ITEM is conducting a study together with the OECD on the cross-border labour market integration of third-country nationals in cross-border regions Belgium-Netherlands (Euregio Meuse-Rhine) and Austria-Germany. It is often difficult for third-country nationals to live in one country and work in another (cross-border work) and to obtain the required work and residence permits. The aim of the study is to identify best practises from European cross-border regions for the OECD project on mobility and integrated labour market for third-country nationals in Greater Copenhagen (with the Capital Region of Denmark, Region Scania in Sweden and the cross-border organisation Greater Copenhagen).
