Workshops & Evaluation Border Effects

Projectstatus: In progress

On behalf of the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, ITEM supports the ministry with the mandatory quality requirement Border Effects for new and amended policy and legislation. To this end, ITEM carries out four activities:

  • Screening of online consultations: annual reporting on border effect assessments within the various dossiers submitted for online consultation;
  • Departmental workshops: providing targeted workshops to departments on cross-border effects, based on a specific dossier;
  • Helpdesk: ITEM supports the ministry with expertise and analysis for questions about border effects and the use of the Border Effects Guidelines.
  • Evaluation: ITEM will evaluate the quality requirement Border Effects by the end of 2025. An evaluation will be published based on interviews, screenings and workshops.
