Andrea is a researcher and substitute lecturer in the Labor Law and Social Security Area at the University of Girona (UdG). She is also a member of the UdG Chair in Immigration, Rights and Citizenship, and an affiliated researcher at ITEM (Maastricht University).

She is currently pursuing her PhD at UdG, with a dissertation titled “Coordination of Social Security Systems regarding Cross-Border Workers: Special Focus on the Catalan-Occitan Region”. Her research focuses on the coordination of Social Security systems under EU Regulations 883/2004 and 987/2009 (including their proposed amendments of 2026), as well as specific situations of non-EU cross-border work in Spain (analyzing bilateral agreements with Morocco and Andorra). Her main area of study is the social protection of cross-border workers in the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion and the specific case of the Cerdanya cross-border Hospital.

Andrea also participates in national and international research projects. She is part of the research team for the Telework Project (2024–2027), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities: “Non-discrimination, occupational well-being and telework of foreign staff: three key elements for the consolidation of remote work”. Previously, she worked as a research technician for the Horizon Europe Project Care4Care, We care for those who care (2023–2025). She has started authoring and co-authoring publications, primarily focused on the care sector.

She holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration, as well as a Master’s Degree in Legal Practice from the University of Girona.
