Senior Researcher
Martin Unfried (1966) has been working in the Netherlands since 1997. He was first affiliated with the European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA). Since 2015, he is senior researcher at ITEM. Martin is project leader of ITEM’s annual border effects report and responsible for, among other things, the development of a border effects guide for the Dutch government and research on territorial impact assessment. He also specialises in questions concerning the cross-border labour market and employment services and was involved in the establishment of border info points and the organisation of cross-border employment services. He is currently working on studies for the European Commission and the OECD, among others.
